New Zealand’s most luxurious bathhouse, with five-star amenities and impeccable service, nestled in the heart of Queenstown. Whether you’ve spent the day carving down The Remarkables or savouring the world-class wineries of Central Otago, step effortlessly from the centre of town into an oasis of calm – where every detail is crafted for deep, intentional restoration.
I was lucky enough to experience this firsthand, and I can honestly say I have never felt more relaxed. Read on, as I walk you through what could well be the most restorative 60 or 90 minutes of your Queenstown visit.

Preparation is simple. Change into your swimwear, pop your phone on silent and place it in your locker along with your personal belongings – this is your chance to truly switch off, step away from the outside world, and be fully present in the experience.
It is recommended warming the body first – beginning in the Steam Room, Infrared Saunas, or Traditional Sauna – before alternating between the cold and hot facilities to make the most of the contrast therapy experience.
Stepping inside, the atmosphere immediately does something to you. The space has been designed in collaboration with Studio Snell architects, and the result is extraordinary – travertine stone, atmospheric low lighting, calming scents and a meditative soundscape that makes the outside world feel very far away. It draws heavily from the tradition of the great European bathhouses, but with a considered, modern sensibility.
The circuit moves you through the immersive spaces at your own pace. The 38°C heated vitality pool is a wonderful place to begin – warm, deeply relaxing, and ideal for easing tired muscles. From there, the circuit takes you through a 34°C ambient pool, perfect for quiet reflection, before the invigorating contrast of the 12°C cold plunge. The rush of energy and clarity that follows the cold pool is remarkable, and the benefits of contrast therapy for circulation and recovery are very real.
Between each space, a quick rinse is required – either using the showers provided, or, if you’re feeling brave, pull the lever to trigger a cold bucket douse overhead. It’s a wonderfully refreshing way to cleanse, reset, and transition from one experience to the next.

Beautiful teas are available throughout the facilities, including the changing rooms, offering the perfect companion to moments of calm between experiences. The tea lounges provide an unhurried atmosphere, encouraging guests to slow down and savour the experience at their own pace.
Unlimited cotton towels are provided, along with Sans[ceuticals] hair and body products and Dyson styling tools in the change rooms – every detail thoughtfully considered to enhance the experience.

The sauna selection was a highlight. The traditional Finnish sauna with its open fireplace proved a firm favourite – there’s something wonderfully timeless about it. Two infrared saunas offer a gentler, deeper warmth, while the scented steam room provides a serene space to simply breathe and be still.
