Carved over millions of years by the once fierce glacial waters of the Ahuriri River, the valley is now a tranquil, yet comfortingly rugged slice of paradise in New Zealand’s South. And resting almost imperceptibly on the valley floor is The Lindis, our new and truly unique luxury lodge.

The Pods at The Lindis offer our guests a truly unique accommodation experience. Nestled gently into the landscape — out of sight but only a stone’s throw from the main lodge, these compact structures bring the environment well and truly into the fore while offering the ultimate in privacy and escape. Meticulously designed with double glazed mirrored glass walls on three sides, and a gloriously efficient 18m2 footprint, these luxuriously heated and totally private pods allow our guests to experience our ever-changing environment in its most nuanced forms. With all the modern conveniences to afford premium luxury — ensuite, king size bed, private outdoor bathtub, outdoor sitting area, and the finest linen and toiletries — the pods offer guests a continuous and fluid experience of this pristine valley. 

The main lodge close by features an elegant wooden slatted roof paying direct homage to the contours of the earth below and the design of the building creates an undeniable sense of harmony between structure and land. The interior of the building features beautiful Spotted Gum wooden panelling and imposing Bluestone masonry throughout, reflecting the tones and geography of the outside environment — with sweeping floor to ceiling windows blurring the barriers between the inside and outside worlds. The lodge features two spacious master suites, three luxurious lodge suites, three pods, our Great Hall for dining, a bar, lounge areas, a games room, and a billiards room, all finished in the same beautiful aesthetic and designed for the utmost comfort and luxury.
