The ever-challenging question – are you a sweet or savoury person?

For some of you this is a simple question… but for the snack loving portion of the population, choosing just one is all too tricky.

Fear not – our MajorDomo team is partial to a treat (or two). Whether the mood calls for sweet or savoury, we’ve got you covered with our one stop shop to guide you around Queenstown, from the famous Ferg Bakery to local’s favourite Frank’s Eatery!

Patagonia

First on the list, and crowned the country’s best ice cream in 2023, is Patagonia.

With stores in Queenstown, Arrowtown and Wanaka you can try many flavours on your tour throughout Otago. However, taking the title for the award was their Hazelnut Cremino so we recommend you start there.

Balls & Bangles

‘’Like a kid in a candy store’’ really applies to Balls & Bangles. It’s an extravaganza of all things sweet (with some really tasty bagels thrown in for good measure).

From your standard jam doughnut to absolute chocolate chaos, your mouth will be watering from start to finish.

Cookie Time

This Christchurch born company has been well loved throughout the country since the 1980s! However, now having gained a name for itself around the globe, Cookie Time is a firm favourite with locals and tourists alike.

Grab a mega milkshake or freshly baked cookie and head to the lakefront to tuck in.

Ferg Bakery

Indulge in an array of savoury treats at Ferg Bakery, nestled in the heart of Queenstown. From flaky, buttery croissants filled with rich ham and gooey cheese to a traditional kiwi pie, bursting with tender meats and gravy. 

The ‘Fergburger’ name has made its way around the world which does mean some pretty long queues… but we think it’s worth it.

Franks Eatery

Embark on a culinary journey at Franks Eatery in Frankton, where savoury treats reign supreme. Sink your teeth into their signature bacon and jalapeno scones, warm and crumbly with every bite, or if you need something a little larger – eggs benny with ham falling off the bone! Franks Eatery promises a delight for all with good vibes, great coffee and an even better menu.

Ma Boulangerie

Located in Remarkables Park in Frankton, Ma Boulangerie invites you to revel in treats that captivate the senses. From their flaky spinach and feta pastries to the aroma of freshly baked quiches filled with smoked salmon and dill, each bite transports you to a world of culinary bliss. Experience the essence of French baking mastery at Ma Boulangerie.
