Fancy yourself as a bit of a foodie? What if we told you that you could enjoy some of New Zealand’s best fine dining from the comfort of your luxury accommodation? Here at MajorDomo we work closely with some of New Zealand’s best private chefs to give you a restaurant standard experience in your luxury holiday home.

Here’s how it works:

Our highly qualified private chefs can create restaurant-quality dishes for you to enjoy, and this can come in all shapes and sizes: whether you would like a three-course haute cuisine-inspired menu, or a hearty authentic sharing platter, the chef is there to custom create the menu to suit your desires. Our savvy concierge team have been lucky enough to try dishes from each of our partnering chefs, and so will normally begin with a chat with you to gauge your style before recommending the best-suited chef.

Before the big night, we will connect you with your private chef to discuss menu options and any dietary requirements. It is worth noting that specific cuisine requests may incur additional charges. For example, if you’re hankering for some freshly caught NZ West Coast crayfish, there’s a good chance it may change any initial quote, but we’ll always keep you updated on costs throughout the booking process.

On the day, your chef will arrive at the villa a couple of hours before dinner and start preparing your delicious dining experience – and this is the fun part. This is your opportunity to be as interactive with the chef as you like, and your chance to get a bit of culinary coaching, as your chef will give you some expert tips as they prepare your meal. Our team has come away from our private chef experiences with gorgeous recipes and handy hints on perfecting tricky technical skills and it is always our favourite part of the night.

And then there’s the food. Doesn’t food always taste better when somebody else cooks it? Even more so when that somebody else is a highly trained chef! Our beautiful homes offer some incredibly feel-good spaces, so it’s great for guests to be able to take full advantage of their time with us by dining at the house. It’s also a unique experience that offers something different away from the busy restaurants in town. Whether it’s a private dinner party for a special occasion and you’re seeking the intimacy of your private villa above a busy restaurant, or you’re hoping to relax at home after a busy day exploring without compromising on your dining options, we cannot recommend this in-villa experience highly enough.
