We understand how important it is to keep everybody happy on family holidays and we love creating inspirational experiences for the whole family to enjoy.

Queenstown and Wanaka offer a great range of fun for all ages, whether you have toddlers or teenagers.

For younger families, we love the Funyaks, which are unique inflatable canoes taken down the iconic Dart River. This is a fun way to explore the Dart River’s hidden side streams, rock pools and dramatic chasms. Spend a special afternoon with your family floating down tranquil river looking spectacular natural wonders. Then travel a back-country route for some Hobbit spotting, passing by locations used in movies to illustrate Middle Earth.

Speaking of Middle Earth, we love taking a 4WD off-roading adventure to the LOTR settings. Knowledgeable guides will tell you all about the filming locations and the mammoth efforts of the film crew to access and film in some of these beautiful spots.

All ages will enjoy a day at the seriously fun Highlands Motorsport park. Take the kids in a race car “Taxi”, drive a Lambourghini around the world-class race track, race each other in go-karts and marvel at the motorsport museum pieces together as a family – especially the novel race cars. Younger children will also love the dinosaur adventure safari, which is an excellent photo op. Highlands really has something for everyone to enjoy – a corker of a family holiday activity!

A family visit to Queenstown and Wanaka is not complete without a helicopter ride to show your family the remote wonders in this region. They will never forget landing on a glacier or having a picnic in a dramatic mountain top setting. Golfers in the family can even enjoy teeing off from a remote cliff top into the beautiful mountain basin below.
